3 Tips for time management

Time is usually referred to as an enemy. We are trying so hard to beat the clock that we cannot even imagine that we can stop. Well, stop and breathe, and look at ourselves and around us and act accordingly.

Do you need time management tips?
Start by seeing the time in another way; well, no longer an enemy. You are the one in charge of it and not the other way around. Are there days that have gone by and they left you without even remembering anything about them or about you doing something memorable?! If yes, then you should take measures. Here are some tips.

Tip 1
Make a list. Include only the things to do in one day. Then, you can start a weekly list, and after a while you can do that for a whole month. But do take baby steps. This is the most important thing. Don’t ask too much from yourself, and, especially, be kind and patient with yourself.
The list must include, shortly, only the things that you must do during that day.

Tip 2
Try to limit, as much as possible, the impact of the time eaters. What are time eaters?
You have them all around you, the TV, mobile phones, laptops, tablets and long conversations on the phone that leave you dried out. Sure, it is important to communicate, but long conversations in which it appears that we say a lot but we hardly remember anything about it or we even understand the other one, do us more harm than good. Here, the idea ‘less is better’ really makes sense.
Try giving yourself breaks from the above.
During the weekends, I, for example, have all my phones on silent, I do not check my emails and neither my social media profiles.
But I do read, watch movies, sew, paint, draw, write or go on trips.

Tip 3
Do realize that during some days you won’t be able to keep at your list and you may not be able to not have those long conversations on the telephone. This does not mean you failed. But, actually, it means that a step backward may give you more motivation.

I hope the tips above do help you. Remind yourself that in order to do things as they are expected from you, you have to be fine. Which brings me to the most important thing: breathe and enjoy, and you will make the time your ally. It is possible.
